Pinapple, Mang

Pinapple, Mango, and Kiwi

Interested in the super foods?  Here are three that are in season:  pineapple, mango and kiwi.

Deliciously sweet and tangy, the kiwi, pineapple, and mango have one thing in common:  All three are natural sources of digestive enzymes and are very healthy.

These tropical super-fruits are in their prime starting in March, but the wonderful flavors, versatility and numerous nutritional benefits make them a year-round favorite.

Full of vitamins such as vitamin C, copper, and potassium, the pineapple is especially high in manganese.  This mineral is essential for normal growth and health, breaking down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates as a part of several enzymes.

Get your daily dose of vitamin C with one large kiwi.  This delectable, sweet, tart fruit is also a great source of potassium and fiber.  With just 7 grams of sugar, a kiwi contains about 1/3 the amount sugar as one apple.

Commonly known as the “king of fruit”, the mango has many health benefits.  One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A, which promotes good eyesight.

These super-fruits are all great to eat with a lean protein like skinless chicken breast right after your personal training session or exercise routine.
